5-starOne Of My Favorite Local Shops
Great bargains on used children's clothing. I bought all of my kid's winter boots there, and two Columbia jackets at a ridiculously low price. I love the boutique side as well. The women's clothing is well chosen and great fitting. They are running specials all through the month of November and December on Thursday nights from 6-8pm. Last week they had champagne and treats, and they were offering an additional 10% off. I left the kids at home with dad and snuck out to do some early holiday shopping and have a glass of bubbly. Very nice touch! Love that they offer gift wrapping as well! The staff is nice and I have never had an issue with anyone working there. Always friendly and kind and they give honest opinions, and great suggestions. I admittedly have only been shopping there for the past two years so it seems they may have worked out some kinks? I wish them well, I think they are a great local spot and so much more enjoyable than the mall.
2-starMixed Reviews
Called today to verify their hours. A nice lady said they were open till 6pm. Took a drive out there, get there at 11.00am and theres a sign on the door saying - Will reopen at 3...Sorry. I was livid. Maybe something did happen but theres no one on standy....Last year I went by the website hours that they were open SUN - get there and they were closed. Call and verify before making a trip.
4-starResale Of Clothing
I have sold my girls clothes two time once summer and once fall. Both times I was VERY pleased with the experience. I thought I got a decent chunk of money for my girls clothing as I buy gap, gymboree and boutique type of clothing. The only complaint I have is you always have to call to get your check. Once you call, the check is sent in a few days time. I always also find something new for myself or something resale for my girls. I would definitely recommend. But I do not have to drive far.
4-starGood In 2007
I have been to Pink Dolly twice in the last week (my first two times to the store). I found great baby gifts - brand new beautiful clothes at used clothing prices (had tags on). Also bought brand new baby toys and photo album. Gifts went over great and the young woman waiting on me even took tags off and wrapped everything as I was heading out to the party. Tonight I made my niece's week by buying a beautiful Laura Ashley red velveteen dress for valentine's day (she's four and likes twirly dresses)....Cost $21; little girl's reaction: priceless. So, don't know about past but seems pretty good in 2007.
1-starLousy Service
I'm sorry to have to agree with the previous comment. I was also frustrated by the poor service I received - and I never even got into the store this time. After I read the negative comments below, I took the precaution of calling ahead, thinking I'd avoid any hassles this way. Wrong! I called just after 10:00am, when the store is supposed to open, and nobody answered until almost 10:30AM (that right there should have warn me away). The woman I talked to said I had to make an appointment to bring my clothes in for resale..... but she refused to make an appointment for me!?! She said I had to call back at 2:00pm that afternoon and talk to the owner for that privilege. Okay.... Should I have been surprised that the owner wasn't there when I called back at 2pm? When I eventually got the owner at 2:30, I told her I had clothes to sell and wanted to make an appointment. It was only after she gave me a long litany of what kinds of clothes were acceptable, and what clothes were not, what brands she didn't like and blah blah blah, and after I asked AGAIN to make an appointment, that she finally saw fit to inform me - in as snooty a manner as possible - that SHE IS NOT TAKING ANY MORE SALES OF CLOTHING UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY!!!!!!! Sorry for the long rant but I spent half the day waiting for NO GOOD REASON, when the first person I called could have just done me the courtesy of telling me what I needed to know. Is it any wonder everyone can't stand the place when they are treated so rudely?!
1-starWent Twice This September
ehhh...I wouldn't quite listen to the post made by the owner below...while it is true I haven't seen the employee every reviewer was referring to in a while, they've hired a similar one...I was in 2 weeks ago to find the store wide open with no employees there. 5 minutes pass and the girl comes back...she checks the store and says to me, 'I'm going to leave again for a sec'...um ok... I had to WAIT for her to come back to ring me up. I should have just left the $10 on the counter, not worrying about whether or not it ever even got to them. Went back the other day and the owner was there with a bunch of her friends and a few unruly children they were squacking away like hens...Yelling and laughing, one of their kids came over and woke up my sleeping son because they weren't watching him...Oh I could go on... That being said, the store does NOT focus on children's resale. Over 75% of it is new women's clothes. There were like 7 pairs of shoes for kids that's it, The sections that used to be organized and somewhat of a broad selection are tiny and jumbled together. I'd say there were like 12-15 items in the 2T section. So with rude employees and very minimal inventory, this is not worth the drive unless you live in Arlington Center! Sorry to have to write this, but it's true.
5-starGreat Store
I found a lot of great clothes for babies, in perfect shape, at very low prices. The owner is delightful and I will definitely go back regularly to check for new inventory. Very easy to get to and to park.
5-starVisit The New Pink Dolly
Thank you to the nice customer that let us know about a few of the less than stellar reviews we received on this web site. Sometimes the owners are the last to know! The employee that was mentioned in the emails no longer works at Pink Dolly, we are so sorry if anyone had a bad experience! We are two working mons with little kids that sometimes have to rely on others. We made a bad choice. Please give us a second chance! Please note that we have just remodeled Pink Dolly and are excited to bring you better brands and a finer selection. Come check us out again. Keri & Cari
5-starLots Of High End Clothes
I loved the selection here. Lots of cute french stuff and higher priced items at great deals
1-starYou Get Very Little For Your Clothes And The Staff Are Rude
I took in several items for resale and was given so little that I have decided to never sell my stuff there again. i will go to the Children's orchard where I can get a store credit and more for your merchandise. Also the girl who waited on me seemed annoyed with me and never thanked me when I left.
