Not Too Good A Deal-Westboro, Ma Store, Fri 20 Mar 2009

I recently brought some items for consignment to the Westboro, Ma store and I did not feel that I received an appropriate amount for my items. I brought in some good clothes and also a pair of Red Sox sneakers that retail for $50.00 at Olympia sports. My son wore them only once in the house on the day of his birthday...then he decided he didn't like how they felt. They were pretty much new...also bauer ice skates like new....and the clothes and I only received $17.00. I thought consigners were supposed to receive 30 % of the selling price. When I went back the woman was a bit rude and intimidating....they put the bin up high of my items and said sign here and returned a few unwanted items. I really wish I had reconsidered.

How Insulting! Westboro Store, Wed 4 Feb 2009

I would never go back there. I got a measly $10 for at least 15 -10 items. Like another reviewer said they put the items high up in the bin and you don't know what they took until you check your bag. I had some really nice clothes they took and a lot better than the things I saw in the store. The price they charge and what they give you, I think its a rip-off. Not to mention, the lady wasn't that friendly. I was never so insulted. $10 I felt like saying forget it. But she put my things in the bins and I just said the heck with it, I will take the cash.

Childrens Orchard In Norwood Area, Tue 27 Jan 2009

I found this site and was quite taken back by the experiences I read about the Norwood store. I have been selling to the owner, Rose Marie, for some time and have found her to be very different than what the other experiences paint her to be. Her store is always clean and stocked, and I know she is only doing her job when she tells me she can't take some of the things when I bring them in. She was never rude to me, but sweet and always asks about my two girls and how they're doing. Maybe it's my carefree attitude that allicites a warmer reaction. But I would just like to share an experience that was different shared before. I tend to believe one would seem to seek out this type of review in mostly negative situations! So here is a different take on the Children's Orchard thrift store around the Norwood area!

Norwood Children's Orchard - Never Again, Sun 30 Nov 2008

I purchase hight quality clothing whether it is new or used. I spend a great deal of money in the process. I went to the Norwood Store and I have nothing positive to say regarding my exerience. I have no problem problem paying $12.99 for a Land's End skirt, however, not with spots. When I addressed the issue with the owner he actually yelled in my face, as if I HAD done something wrong. I was horrified by this man's behaviior.... I was screamed at in front of several customers about the fact that he 'WOULD NOT GIVE ME $1 off a &10 skirt that had a STAIN. I promise you I will never shop ther again. With Gymboree Gymbucks I can purchase new items for the same or less amount of $ withouth being screamed at . NOT WORTH THE Money

Children's Orchard, Norwood, Tue 4 Nov 2008

What a waste of time!!!! I waited over a month for an appointment and then they sent me home with 99% of the items I brought in. When I spoke to the woman on the phone she was very rude and I actually considered selling my items on Ebay. I wish I had stuck with my gut! She said she was picky, but really!! I only buy the best for my kids - Osh Kosh, Carter's, Children's Place - and for some reason nothing was good enough. And after looking at the items they had for sale, I'm totally confused. There was some pretty outdated, ugly, worn out stuff there! I spent hours making sure nothing was stained or worn down and it wasn't even worth it. I will NEVER go back there again!! And I will make sure all my friends know not to go, too. You're better off throwing everything in a bag and donating it...at least you'll get some tax money back!

So Quick & Easy No Hassles At All!, Tue 28 Oct 2008

I just brought my kids outgrown clothing to the Children's Orchard in Billerica. A very nice lady helped me carry them to the back for the buyer to review. When she was done (ten minutes tops) She called me back and paid me cash! She then helped me bring my things out front while I shopped. all these years of storing and yard sales, what a find. I will bring anything still in good shape after every season. And I found 2 bags of new things for this season. This is a find!

Rudest People I Have EVER Dealt With!!!! 9/12/2008, Mon 15 Sep 2008

I just called the Norwood location a few minutes ago to find out about selling some of my baby/toddler equipment. The person that answered the phone was very rude. I have never sold clothes to a consignment shop before and was asking her the procedure. I felt like I had to drag information out of her. When I asked if I should just bring my stuff down, she told me that I had to set up an appointment and she then told me to hold. Another lady got on who was even ruder and very abrasive than this girl and seemed to be very bothered that she had to set up an appointment for me (which was not going to be until the end of October). Her attitude was so nasty that I wouldn't ever do business with someone like her. I'm not sure how she even stays in business. In fact, when I was lookig up reviews, I noticed that 2 other people had the same problem with this store.

Childrens Orchard, Norwood Mass, Thu 11 Sep 2008

I recently went to this store to sell some clothes. The woman in charge today, 9-11-08 was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. Not even a smile crossed her face. The customer service was so lacking that I personally will never grace this store again.

Norwood Employee Gets a thumbs down!!!!, Sun 31 Aug 2008

I recently called the Norwood store to get some information in regards to bringing items in for purchase. The woman I spoke with immediately gave me an attitude. I have never sold to a consignment store so I basically asked what the policies and procedures were. She immediately said, 'I am very picky. I don't take onesies, one piece sets, or socks. I'm also very busy so if you want to book an appt., you'll have to wait until October.' When I said I couldn't wait that long (just lost my job and I have a newborn) she actually sighed at me and said, 'then I can't help you.' I was appalled and will never be back.

Children's Orchard Billerica, Wed 21 May 2008

I have been selling my children's clothing to this store for years. I am also an ex-employee, so I know the real story. I am always amazed at the people who get upset about what they won't take or how 'professionally' it is done. They don't say much about their choices to avoid negative comments like your clothing is dirty or too worn. They focus only on what they are purchasing which is right in front of you to look over or count or what ever, And they always tell you if you are not happy with the price or you have someone to give it too, by all means take it back. They also look at about 1500 pieces of clothing a week. This is not a mom and pop thrift store. They are very nice woman who do a service to the surrounding community and most of their customers love the store and the ease with which they get rid of their outgrown stuff. This store has been around for 15 years because they are professional and patient with sometimes very difficult 'mom's'
