The Capron Park Zoo is a great place to bring the entire family. This zoo is a small park with plenty of animals to see. The river otters offer plenty of entertainment with their tricks and performances that they seem to do endlessly!

As you walk the paths through the zoo you will encounter African Lions, llamas, goats, sloth bears, snow leopards, binturang, snakes, fox, birds, kangaroos, emu and countless other animals. It is a relatively small zoo, but it is perfect for younger children. Even with its small size there is still plenty to see.

For the summer they have set up a new 'mist tent' for the kids to run through and play in to cool off. A snack stand is available for hot dogs, ice cream, popcorn and beverages. A gift shop is located in the entrance building.

Birthday parties and special events are available.

Also available around the outside of the zoo is a beautiful park with a large playground area for the kids!

  • Visit the zoo first, plenty of areas for picnics before you enter (no food is allowed to be take into the zoo with you). After the zoo, by about mid afternoon the playground tends to clear out. Earlier in the day the playground tends to be extremely crowded.

Quite A Place, Fri 10 Aug 2007

It is a gem. The most interesting animals so close up.

Excellent Value!!, Fri 13 Apr 2007

When I saw the price of admission I decided to check this place out. It was a great place to take my 3 year old. The amount of animals was quite impressive. Plenty to see and very exciting even for parents. After you finish with the zoo you can go play at the big playground just outside of the zoo. Definately worth the cost and the drive. Great weekend family outing or playdate!

Great Little Zoo, Sat 17 Jun 2006

What a great little place. So many unusual animals.

Worth It For The Low Admission, Sat 17 Jun 2006

not a lot of animals to see....but it is cheap. the playground is great for the little ones to blow off some steam....lots of shade too.

Small Zoo, Big Fun, Sat 17 Jun 2006

A small zoo but many unusual animals. Bigger zoos have more, large animals, but there you can get closer to them here at Capron Park.

Up Close And Personal., Sat 17 Jun 2006

Animals we have never seen before. Closer than we have ever been. Hands on experience. The grand kids love it.

Rain Forest, Sat 17 Jun 2006

The new Rain Forest is terrific!
