Others to Consider: Shelburne Farm & Orchard, Great Brook Farm State Park, Stowe Farm, Adams Family Farm, Kimball FarmCodman farm was started here in the 1700's. It is currently owned by a non-profit foundation. Enjoy this small farm area complete with chickens and various other barnyard animals.
You can also visit its famous Codman House, a museum open to the public. The interiors, furnished with portraits, memorabilia, and art works collected in Europe, reflect the individual style and taste of each family member who resided there.
The grounds boast a hidden Italianate garden which features statuary, and a reflecting pool filled with waterlilies. It is a beautiful spot to consider how life was lived in days past.
Codman Community Farm in Lincoln is also developing a hands on, work-oriented program to introduce young teens to the farm. Call the farm for more information.
Hours:
The Codman House is open to the general public June 1 through October 15, Wednesday through Sunday and is available to rent for special occasions.
