4-starLots Of Fun
We were there for the Forth of July and had a great time! Kahuna Laguna is just the right size to let my 8 and 7 year olds splash where they like yet still be able to keep track of them. Teens might get a little bored, but the four slides, wave pool, water splash play area, etc. kept my kids busy for hours. Also, the outdoor pool is just outside the locker rooms of the water park and you can go back and forth. The only thing I didn't like was that children were allowed in the hot tub. Kids have run of the rest of the area, leave the hot tub for the grown ups, it's not a swimming pool! We only ate at one of the resort's restaurants (breakfast buffet) and it's was worth adding it to our package deal. We ate all our other meals at a few of the many dining establishments in the North Conway area. As for our room, we didn't spend much time there except for sleeping but it was comfortable, quiet and clean.
5-starGreat waterpark spotty info
The Red Jacket's new indoor waterpark is really fun, and worth the trip to North Conway. My daughter had the best time, especially in the wave pool -- just like being at the beach. There were tons of lockers (unlike Coco Key). The rooms were nice & comfy, but I was a miffed about food. Reservations said there were four eateries -- there are not. At breakfast the ONLY option is the pricey (though delicious) buffet. The snack bar wasn't open for lunch (so I paid for another sit-down meal) because staff didn't show up! The nice front desk staff didn't know they weren't open. Also didn't know that after check-out, you can't return to the water park. (You can at two other major resorts I've visited.) They just need to striaghten out communication -- otherwise, a great destination.
