CENTRAL

Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park, 10 to 11:30 am
287 Oak Street, Uxbridge, MA ~Meet at Visitor Center~
Celebrate the New Year with a First Day Hike at Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park as we
walk along the canal towpath, view the river, and find signs of winter wildlife along the waterways and forest. The hike is one and a half mile long (1.5), about 60 minutes long. More Info.

Wachusett Reservoir, Sterling, MA 10:00 am - 12:00pm
Meet at Gate 35 at the intersection of Route 110 and Chace Hill Road, Sterling
Celebrate the New Year with a First Day Hike at Wachusett Reservoir as we traverse the shores
and trails of the Reservoir and learn the history behind the water supply that provides clean
drinking water to over 3 million people in Massachusetts.

Attendees, please meet at Gate 22 on Rt 140 in West Boylston. GPS address is 167 Temple St.
The hike starts at 11 a.m. and is approximately two miles. More Info

NORTH

Breakheart Reservation, 10:00 am
177 Forest Street, Saugus, MA
~Meet at the Visitor Center at 10 am~
Start off the New Year with an invigorating First Day Hike in a beautiful state park and make a
resolution to burn off those extra holiday calories! We will have two guided hikes through the paved loops of Breakheart. Be prepared for cold weather— dress in layers and wear winter boots. Bring your friends and family! More Info

Harold Parker State Forest, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Meet at the Headquarters, 305 Middleton Rd., North Andover, MA
Start off the New Year with an invigorating First Day Hike in a beautiful state park and make a
resolution to burn off those extra holiday calories. Explore Harold Parker and afterwards warm up
with a fire and some hot chocolate from the Friends of Harold Parker!

Be prepared for cold weather - dress in layers and wear winter boots. Meet at the Harold Parker headquarters located at 305 Middleton Rd., North Andover. More Info

SOUTH

Blue Hills Reservation, 12:00 pm
Gather at Houghton’s Pond Recreation Area at 11:00am

Hikes begin at 12pm. Two guided hikes and one self-guided hike begins at 12:00pm. Enjoy hot chocolate sold by the Boy Scouts. Please arrive early and allow time for parking.

WEST

Great Falls Discovery Center, 1:00 pm
2 Avenue A, Turners Falls, MA
Enjoy a leisurely three-mile stroll down the Canalside Rail Trail and get the New Year started off
on a Great Falls note! Meet in the Great Hall. Hot chocolate will be served following the hike. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Great Falls Discovery Center

Mt. Greylock State Reservation - 9:30am & 12:30pm
The first hike of the day starts promptly at 9:30 am. The second hike starts at 12:30 pm. Both hikes meet at the Mount Greylock State Reservation Visitor Center, 30 Rockwell Road in Lanesborough, MA.

Willard Brook State Forest, 10:00 am
599 Main Street, West Townsend, MA
Meet at the Damon Pond Picnic Area near the junction of Rt. 119 and 31

Nantasket Beach Reservation, 11:00 am
Route 3A, Hull,
Meet at the MJM Bathhouse, 204 Nantasket Ave., MA Hot beverage follows the hike.

Nickerson State Park, 11:00 am
3488 Main Street, Brewster, MA
Meet at the Main Lot by the entrance.
Enjoy Hot Chocolate after the hike. Co-sponsored by the Friends of Nickerson State Park

Granville State Forest, 10:30 am
323 West Hartland Road, Granville, MA Meet at the Park Headquarters
Warm up afterward around a fire with a warm beverage.
