Hammond Castle will once again serve as the atmospheric backdrop for the most unique Halloween attraction in New England. Guests will take a guided tour through the historic castle and its grounds, and bear witness to nightmarish displays.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights: October 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, Nov. 1

Dare to venture on a guided tour of a transformed Hammond Castle Museum. Experience terror like never before, courtesy of Pastimes and Dean Calusdian. Don't expect people dressed as vampires or bedsheet-wearing ghosts jumping out and yelling 'BOO!' here...Castle of the Damned is out to chill your very soul with the most bizarre and disturbing displays you will ever experience.

BEWARE! Castle of the Damned is a 'PG-13' show and may be too intense for younger visitors (or the faint of heart). Not recommended for younger children.

About Hammond Castle:
Come explore Hammond Castle on a self-guided tour of eight magnificant rooms, the tower galleries, as well as several nifty passage ways. You'll also enjoy the beauty of the castle grounds and an excellent view of the Atlantic shore line.

Dr. John Hays Hammond produced over 400 patents and the ideas for over 800 inventions. Second only to Thomas Alva Edison in number of patents, John Hammond was one of America's premier inventors. His most important work was the development of remote control via radio waves, which earned him the title, 'The Father of Remote Control.'

5-starThe BEST Haunted House Anywhere
My family went to Hammond Castle last year, Oct 2007, for Halloween and we absolutely loved it! It's a hoot riding the decorated buses from the park to the castle, it certainly gets you in the mood. The line was really long once we got to the castle, it took over an hour to get in, but there were actors that came around to keep you entertained. The castle is REALLY, REALLY, scary! My 12 year old daughter was very frightened, and she usually is able to handle haunted houses. We loved it so much we are planning to go again this year. It is more amazing than you can imagine!
5-starI Have Never Been So Scared Before
The castle of the damned was a lot of fun. I am not a fan of horror or scaring myself in fact I get scared from an episode of unsolved mysteries, but I am glad that I made it through this haunted house. Do not worry about the line because the haunted house is worth it! I was amazed at what an awesome job they did, it's more than people popping and saying boo it's walking through the whole horrific blood fest that's scary.
4-starHaunted Of The Damned TIPS
We went tot he Haunted castle sat 10/20 and found the lines to be long and unmanaged. If you are in a group of 2 or more, have ONE person wait on line to get tickets while ANOTHER PERSON waits on line to get in!! There is no indication that this is how it works, but you'll see 2 lines, one for tickets and one to get in. we were on the ticket line for 45 min before we realized what was going on and split our group up. Shame on the bus drivers for not telling the guests on the bus! we arrived at 7:30 or so and never got in until almost 9. The lines may vary, and may even have been light last night due to the sox game conflict. BRING warm cloths or a blanket for the line, as it gets windy on the water. BRING food, snacks, thermos of cider or cocoa etc for the kids as the line is tedious and NOT entertaining. Flashlights with a book or game console might help too...The prices for food/beverage was very reasonable [carmel apples, fried dough, water soda] but DON't GO Near the hot chocolate, it was awful garbage. The castle was fun and scary and probably worth the entry fee, but it only takes 20 minutes or so to go through the tour so balance that against the lines to get in...ALSo, we took our stoic 8 yr old daughter, who has easily handled Witch's Woods before....she found it scary so I'd suggest 10 or older to be safe....other young kids came out laughing so it is a hard call to take the younger ones or not....
