Celebrate the first day of summer with a free ferry ride to the Boston Harbor Islands national park. Visitors will be able to enjoy a trip to either Spectacle or Georges Islands to escape the city for a fun outdoor excursion.
Bring a picnic, take a walk on the islands’ many walking paths, relax on a sandy beach, check out the visitor center, and enjoy a refreshing ferry ride through scenic Boston Harbor.
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. 9:00 am – 6:00 pm - Ferries depart every half hour. Due to high demand, all tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are available starting at 8:00 am on June 21st at Long Wharf North Ferry Center.
No advance reservations. Parties are limited to five. Valid only on Tuesday, June 21.
A return time will be assigned based on departure time when tickets are allocated. Tickets are to one designated island, and visitors will have approximately two and a half hours to explorer Spectacle or Georges.

the rangers could not have been more pleasant and helpful. my kids had reel fishing lessons for free. and swam all day and enjoyed the top of the island..great place to take your kids for a fun day. we thought we missed the ranger for fishing and left to go to south beach, when another ranger actually came after us to let us know he was still at the hall to wait . and on the way another ranger took time out to show us some cool stuff.. loved it...been in boston 40 yrs and this was my first visit wonder why....take your kids or just go with your friends - its great..
