Michael's Harborside is possibly the most popular restaurant in Newburyport. It offers lots of seating options (inside by the fireplace, outside on the enclosed deck, outside on the open deck next to the water, and 'Upstairs at Michael's'), lots of affordable menu choices, and the atmosphere is a dressed-up kind of casual.

We offer take out with curbside delivery. We also have specials every day for lunch and dinner.
The menu is extensive and offers appetizers ranging from salad to chowder to raw oysters. Dinner salads are served in hearty portions and are reasonably priced.
The entrees are creative but not far-out, including steak tips, baked haddock, and grilled shrimp & scallops. 'Fried and true' seafood selections (*all fried food is Gluten Free), include shrimp, scallop, haddock, clam, oyster and calamari plates. Round out your meal with such favorites as chocolate molten cake, low-carb cheesecake, or strawberry shortcake.
It is in the children's arena that Michael's falls a bit short. Due to the high number of customers, it is often a while before a waitress arrives at your table, and then you have to wait for food on top of that. Crayons are provided, but that only entertains a small child for so long.
If your child can stand the wait, however, a very balanced children's menu is a good reason to bring your family to Michael's. In addition to such entree choices as baked haddock, spaghetti, and burgers, healthy side dishes of fresh fruit, apple slices with peanut butter, and baby carrots are offered.
Theme nights have started for the fall, running from 5:00-9:00 pm. Monday is movie night, Tuesday is pasta night, Wednesday is lobster night, and don't miss '3-course Thursdays,' where you can choose a soup, chowder, or salad, one entree, and one dessert, for $15.55 (at night) or $12.22 (at lunch).

From I-95: Take exit 57 (Rt. 113 West Newbury & Newburyport). Take 113 East heading towards downtown Newburyport. You will go past Shaws shopping center, & past Newburyport High School. Continue straight on this road (High St.) until you come to Market St.: the 2nd left after you pass over Rt. 1- just after St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Turn left onto Market St. following this to the end. You will now be directly across from our driveway. The sign (above) is just to the right. A Car Detail shop and nail salon are just to the left of the driveway. Follow the driveway all the way down. We are down on the water.
