College for Kids and Arts Alive offers two children’s summer camps at Northern Essex Community College’s Haverhill campus.

Each session is $175 per camper with a non-refundable $35 registration fee. Before and after care is available for all campers for a nominal fee. Early registration recommended.

College for Kidsfrom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. offers a junior division is for 9- to 11-year-olds, and a senior division for 12- to 14-year-olds. Campers will select a morning, mid-day and afternoon class, spanning a wide variety of interests including musical theater, painting, computers, movie making, junk-box creations, creative writing, digital photography, book publishing, physical science, scene study, drawing, mythology, multi-media art, black and white photography, space science, basketball, modern dance, hands-on-algebra, cartooning, newspaper writing, biology, Web design, inventions, Shakespeare, technology and engineering, and animation.

Arts Alive,for 6- to 8-year-olds, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers receive three classes a day on a rotating basis in the areas of theater, art, music, science, poetry, dance and storytelling. Each session will have a theme. Themes include Renaissance Fair: Knights, Dragons, and Princesses; Let’s Put on a Show! Theater, Puppetry, and Storytelling; Young Architects: Building Extravaganza; and Mexico Fiesta: Pinatas, Music and more.
