Celebrate the sport, history and culture of Chinese Dragon Boat Racing at the Weeks Footbridge on Memorial Drive in Cambridge. Races on both days & festival on Sunday with arts, crafts, food, martial arts demonstrations, and music.
Hong Kong dragon boats are slim, teakwood racers with a hand-painted dragon's head at the prow and a flashy tail at the stern. Decorated in brilliant Chinese colors, each boat holds a crew of 18 sitting side by side, a steersperson at the rudder and a drummer whose beat sets the pace for the crew.
