The rink will open for the 2008-2009 season with demonstrations by the 2008 U.S. National Champion Ice Mates and Mini Mates and performances by other nationally ranked skaters. Special guests will include mascots Wally the Green Monster from the Boston Red Sox, Blades from the Boston Bruins, Frog Pond Freddie, and characters from the Boston Ballet’s Nutcracker. Mix 98.5 FM radio and Walt Disney Pictures’ BOLT will be on site with fun prizes and giveaways. There will also be a free raffle for fifteen free admission passes to the Frog Pond.
