Great shoreline beach spot with views of Logan planes landing, beaches, walkways, and of course Fort Independence.


Nelson Park Splash PadPlymouth, Free
The 5,000-square-foot splash pad at Nelson Park is a refreshing place to cool off in the heat, and features motion and push-button activated jets of water shooting in different directions off a cool rubberized surface.


Alpine Field PlaygroundWayland, Free
This is a newer playground specially designed for the toddler set. It features a wide variety of play structures and a sandbox with equipment and toys. Fenced in, with a gate, in a quiet wooded setting.


Auburndale CoveNewton, Free
A very peaceful park on the Charles River in Newton. There are ducks, geese and swans for kids to feed, and playground equipment for tots and kids. There is also a picnic area and restrooms.


Capron Park & ZooAttleboro, $
The Capron Park Zoo is a great place to bring the entire family. This zoo is a small park with plenty of animals to see. The river otters offer plenty of entertainment with their tricks and performances that they seem to do endlessly!


Cashman ParkNewburyport, Free
A waterfront park that has activities for everyone: a jungle gym, open fields, tennis and basketball courts, soccer and softball fields, and a public boat ramp!


Christopher Columbus Waterfront ParkBoston, Free
The Columbus Waterfront Park has a great playground, free views of the waterfront, a pretty rose garden, and plenty of room for kids to run around and burn off


Concord Playground & Spray FountainConcord, Free
Great open playground, better for preschool age, but toddlers can climb too with supervision. Features a great spray fountain for those hot summer days.


EMC PlaygroundHopkinton, Free
The EMC Playground in Hopkinton is wonderful for a variety of ages - more for toddlers. There is a lot of shade, benches, four baby/toddler swings, and the climb-on area is big enough for mom to get up there too with a toddler.


Endicott ParkDanvers, $
Offers a large playground, animal farm and nature hiking path. Picnic tables are available throughout the grounds. Bathrooms and drink machines can be found in the main building.
