The Drawbridge Puppet Theater has re-opened! Once again the puppets delight children and their families in Lunenburg, MA. Located approximately 1 mile rom Lunenburg Center, (Rte. 2A) at 1335 Mass. Ave. is the new permanent home of 'Willy the Wizard' and all of his puppet pals which area families have enjoyed for decades. With plenty of FREE parking, beautifully landscaped grounds, a delightful walk-thru garden, the new location for the Drawbridge Puppet Theater is truly wonderful.
Puppet Exhibit
To coincide with the new theater, Artistic Director Paul L'Ecuyer will be celebrating twenty five years of puppetry. An exhibit at the new location will house many of the artifacts from 'Paul's puppet past'; Marionettes, hand and shadow puppets, original artwork, scenery, props and articles covering the past 25 years of Mr. L'Ecuyer's career as a puppeteer. Many collected puppets from Indonesia, and Burma, beautiful marionettes created by master puppeteer Holmes Hurll, and donated hand puppets by artisans of the Fitchburg Art Museum will also be on display.
Performances
Public performances are held every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM, and Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM. They also have a mid-month show (Third Wed. of each month) at 11:00 AM.
Cost
$5.00 per person
Crowning of the King and Queen at the Drawbridge Castle will be conducted after every public performance. Prize drawings and backstage tours conclude each show. Field trips, private birthday parties and other functions may be scheduled at any other time during regular operating hours at the theater. The Drawbridge Puppet Theater also travels to your location as well! Please call the theater box office for more information.
