The old Merrimac Public Library was beautiful and historic, but it was dark, creaky, and kind of cramped. The new library, which opened less than 2 years ago, is bright and spread out, making it much more welcoming to children and adults alike.
The library's selection of materials varies depending on what you're looking for, but new releases, DVDs, and children's materials are usually the most well-stocked sections. Anything the library doesn't have on hand can usually be obtained from other libraries in the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium.
The library offers books, magazines and newspapers, including large print; reference help; CD ROMs; access to the Internet, fax machine, and copy machine; audio and video cassette tapes; compact discs; DVDs; books on CD; museum passes and special activities.
A 150-person capacity meeting room is available Monday through Sunday, 8:00 am to 10:30 pm.
