As one of Connecticut's principal cultural and civic institutions, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art is dedicated to outstanding collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, and to the highest professional standards.
Expect to find household names hanging on every wall at the Atheneum. Among others, the museum features: Picasso, Monet, Dalí, Van Gogh, Warhol, Miró, Matisse, Sargent, Hopper, Homer, Wyeth, Klimt, Caravaggio, de Chirico, LeWitt, Rauschenberg, Sherman, Stella, Oldenburg, Giacometti, and Albers.
Introduce children to a world of art at the Wadsworth Atheneum. Regularly scheduled programs promise a combination of interactive art exploration and engaging activities. Best of all, it’s not just for the kids. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are invited to be creative, too!
Children ages 5 to 10 and accompanying adults discover art together through looking, drawing, and imaginative activities based on select works of art. Family ArtPacks include a colorful guide that children take home. Pick up an ArtPack at the Main Street information desk. Free with museum admission.
