clark art institute photoThe Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is an art museum and a center for research and higher education, dedicated to advancing and extending the public understanding of art.

Ask at the Information Desk for a 'Looking Carefully' card, designed to encourage children to look at paintings carefully and think about what they see.

During the school year, a complementary drawing pads are available so you and your children can sketch your favorite works of art. Plan to spend time hiking the well-maintained hiking trails or finding “points of interest” on thepark-like campus with one of theGPS units, for loan, free of charge, at the Information Desk. A Kids Activities page, offers interactive activities that might whet their appetite for a visit.

Three times a year, the Clark puts on special family days, in celebration of a special exhibition or part of the permanent collection. These include a variety of activities – gallery talks, art making, and related entertainment – both inside and out. For younger children, try the Start with Art preschool program on the second Saturdays of the winter months.

On the first Fridays of November – March, we host the popular New Parents Gallery Talks, an informal gallery talk for new parents with their young babies.
