Did you know that bees play a huge role in the foods we eat?

These buzzing beauties are responsible for pollinating 80% of the world’s plants – and we can thank them for one out of every three bites of food that we eat!

Learn all about these important insects during Bee Day at Franklin Park Zoo on Saturday, June 8.

There will be special zookeeper chats, activities and more focused around these vital pollinators.

Enjoy music and interactive performances from the band Bee Parks and the Hornets, and learn about what you can do to protect threatened bee populations in your own neighborhood.

While you’re learning all about bees, buzz on over to the Wicked BIG Bugs exhibit, where you’ll see larger-than-life animatronic insects and learn more about the important role of insects in healthy ecosystems.

Roles will be reversed as you find yourself looking up into the eyes of an 8-foot-tall tarantula, or at the tail of a mighty emperor scorpion looming 15 feet in the air!
