Class will begin with a lesson in glass safety.

Kids will learn how to handle glass in a safe manner, that will allow them to work with confidence to create glass art.

Next we will spend approximately half an hour learning how to cut glass.

The lesson will begin with straight lines, including different polygonal shapes.

Then the students will graduate to curved lines and on-to circles.

The kids will learn to use a variety of glass working tools including a grinder.

Once the participants have completed the glass cutting lesson we will move on.

The students will receive a clear piece of glass to use as a base piece, and the designing will begin.

Students will spend a few minutes brainstorming ideas, and then sketching their ideas.

Then, everyone will gather the glass they plan to use for their projects.

Using their new knowledge of glass cutting, the students will bring their ideas to life.
