The Year of the Rat will start January 25 th on the first new moon, and celebrations run for 15 days till the first full moon.
If you celebrate the Asian Lunar New Year, your print may include elements such as a rat, cherry blossoms, Chinese characters, the moon etc.
If you simply wish to create a Lunar New Year block print, you may choose your own theme, for example, a moon and wildlife such as a wolf.
Mei-Ling will offer guidance and instructions throughout, and no prior art experience is needed.
You will bring home up to 15 printed cards and envelopes, your 4”x6” carved block, and up to 10 prints on heavy paper which you can give as gifts for the New Year!
