Join us for a special virtual program to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Artists Luis Martin and Aaron Marin will guide viewers through a collage-making session and prompt a conversation reflecting on social and civic issues, injustice, and race while tying in their lived experiences as men of color, Latinx and Black.

In an invitation to participate, viewers will have free access to a digital collage download with images and visual elements selected by both artists. The first 20 registered participants will get a collage kit mailed out to them in advance of the workshop.

Instructions for joining the virtual program will be included in your confirmation email.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Luis Martin / The Art Engineer: Born in Los Angeles, and based in New York, Luis Martin began his journey in the art museums of L.A. where he worked as a teen. Moving to New York at the age of 19, he continued to work at cultural institutions before attending art school. His artistic career flourished through self-initiated projects like “Collage Dream” and “Collage Boss,” that aimed to create visibility and access to his art practice and that of other artists. He has exhibited work nationally and internationally. Read more at LuisMartinArt.com.

Aaron Marin is a collage artist and commercial illustrator based in the Hudson Valley area of New York. He creates personal work under the pen name NEUTOKYO, a nod to his years living and working in Japan. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, and The New York Times magazine and the covers of major publications such as WIRED. As NEUTOKYO his work brings fresh graphic art inspiration with his experimentations in collage, typography, and photography. Read more at aaron-marin.com.
