The Tibetan Association of Boston will host a public talk by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet on Saturday, November 1, 2014, 9:30am to 11:30am at TD Garden in Boston.

The Dalai Lama will speak on the theme 'Educating the Heart & Mind'. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster.com, calling 800-745-300 or at TD Garden Box Office.

This is the second public talk of the Dalai Lama hosted by the Tibetan Association of Boston. The first public event was held in May 2009 at Gillette Stadium and was attended by 13,000 people. The Dalai Lama also visited the TD Garden (then known as the FleetCenter) in 2003 and spoke to a crowd of 13,000.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, describes himself as a simple Buddhist monk. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet and was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktser, Amdo, northeastern Tibet.

In 1989, the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Chinese occupation of his country. He travels the world giving Buddhist teachings and public talks on a wide range of topics including universal responsibility and the importance of secular ethics in the modern age.

He lives in Dharamsala in northern India.

The Dalai Lama will give religious teachings and public talks in three American cities beginning in Alabama on October 23rd and ending in New York City on November 4th. More information on these events can be found at www.DalaiLama.com/Teachings/Schedule.

The Tibetan Association of Boston (TAB) is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1992 under the auspices of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile.

TAB strives to preserve and promote the unique Tibetan cultural tradition within the Tibetan
community and further the just cause of Tibet. There are more than 600 Tibetans living in and around the Greater Boston area. The community is currently working towards the establishment of a Heritage Center to preserve and promote Tibetan culture and to share it with other citizens of Greater Boston.
