proudly presents the 18th Annual “Do It Your Damn Self!!” DIYDS!!
National Youth Film Festival.
The DIYDS!!
festival, is the longest-running youth-curated film and video festival in the country.
Created in 1996 by four inner-city teenage girls who felt misrepresented in the media, these youth wanted their videos seen by a wider audience.
The festival now serves as an opportunity for young people to gain important leadership experience and public speaking skills, as well the chance to use video as a medium for communicating issues that are relevant to them.
On Saturday, March 21st, the Premiere Screening begins at 7pm, followed by our Premiere Party-both will take place at the MIT Media Lab on the 6th floor.
The preview screenings and premiere gala event are experiences young filmmakers rarely get: the chance to screen their work in front of a national audience.
This is a unique opportunity for these young filmmakers from around the globe and country to share their knowledge, passion and insight into their work.
It is equally a unique opportunity for the young screening attendees and audience members to meet and learn from these young film practitioners.
