This program continues the group's 28th season which focuses on a topic that is as relevant today as it was in the 18th century: migration.

The migration of musicians and their music in the Old and New Worlds shaped the musical environments in which these musicians found themselves, changing the course of music history.

The season highlights a variety of musical cultures in performances of well-loved masterpieces and exciting “rediscoveries” of the Baroque and Classical periods.

This program focuses on the musical treasures that were brought to this country in the 18-century by the culturally-sophisticated Moravian communities.

From their abundance of surviving manuscripts of chamber music, the ensemble has chosen W.

A.

Mozart's beloved Piano Quartet in G Minor, Ignaz Pleyel's energetic Piano Trio in D Major, a lively flute quintet by Andreas Lidl, and string trios by Moravian composers J.

Grimm and J.

C.

Bechler.

In keeping with the theme of migration, the group has partnered with the Massachusetts-based non-profit organization Refugee & Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC) to raise awareness about the important work they are doing to support today’s immigrants.

Representatives from the RIAC community will be on hand at the concerts to share information about the work of the organization.

Old Post Road is also accepting donations of children's books at the concerts to benefit the RIAC's constituents.

Discover more about this unique season on the group’s website, www.oldpostroad.org.

Unless otherwise noted, tickets are $35 for preferred seating, $30 for general admission, $10 for college students, and free for children ages 7-17 when accompanied by an adult.

Co-presenters for this season include the Sudbury Historical Society, the Wayland Historical Society, and Worcester Historical Museum.

The concert series is sponsored, in part, by the Bear Foundation, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, an agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Sudbury Cultural Council, and the Wayland Cultural Council.
