JOHN KLESHINSKI CONCERT SERIES Experience the bassoon with works written in former Executive Director, David Lapin’s tenure at the Music Center, by composers when they were 34 years or younger, with some performers having been Music Center bassoon students in the past 34 years!

As a special treat, the Music Center’s new Executive Director, Lecolion Washington, will be performing.

Washington performed with the Victoria (TX) Symphony Orchestra where he spent 3 seasons as assistant principal bassoon including one season as acting principal.

Washington also served three seasons as co-principal bassoon of the Missouri Chamber Orchestra.

He has also served as guest principal bassoon with the Arkansas Symphony and the Reno Philharmonic.

He performs regularly with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the IRIS Orchestra.
Selections include Sonata in d minor for bassoon and piano (Sprankle), A Bell Ringing in an Empty Sky for solo bassoon (Underhill) and Legend of the Fawn for 2 bassoons and piano (Baldwin).

This concert is presented as part of the Music Center’s John Kleshinski Concert Series.

Named in memory of John Kleshinski, former Music Center Board President and student, our concerts provide a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy a diverse sampling of musical instruments and genres.

Our informal and family-friendly concerts are free (unless otherwise noted) and run approximately ninety minutes in length.

Please join us in Allen Hall for musical performances of exceptional quality, featuring our Award-Winning faculty, guest artists and advanced students.
