On June 1 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon (BMSS) will host a glamorous “Great Gatsby” themed fundraiser at the private school at 120 Lakeview Street in Sharon.

A fundraiser for Autism Speaks, the event will feature Boston Celtics legend Cedric Maxwell (uncle to two autistic children) and leaders in autism advocacy.

The event invites all area special needs parents to attend and help raise awareness and funding for Autism Speaks and a new equine therapy program at the school.

Equine therapy is especially effective for children on the autism spectrum, and for children with special needs seeking its unique blend of physical, occupational and speech/language therapy.

Located along scenic Lake Massapoag, the event will take place under a giant tent and feature violin selections, ballet and ballroom dance demonstrations to shine a spotlight on the talented children of the school.

Party guests may meet the school’s dedicated directors and learn more about the private school’s goal of helping all children experience the joy of learning, including those on the autism spectrum.

Adults will enjoy dancing, music, wine and hors d’oeuvres while children will enjoy delicious party fare.

Children at BMSS enjoy a unique blend of academics alongside drama, art and music lessons, French language immersion, movement and dance, and practical life skills directed by a dedicated staff in a peaceful setting in Sharon.

Event tickets are “pay what you can” at the door, and the event is handicapped accessible and open to all.

Formal attire suggested fitting the “Great Gatsby” theme.

For questions or to schedule a tour, email [email protected] and visit the school’s website at www.bilingualmontessorischoolofsharon.com.
