Join us for a family story day at The Umbrella!

In addition to our StoryArt: Children's Book Illustration Exhibition on view in the gallery, Umbrella artists will open their studios and fill our classrooms with art and activities for all ages.

Wayne Geehan will demonstrate how he does his art, showing the book he will be currently working on finished art for.

He will give a talk on how he works with the publisher to create the final product.

Ilse Plume will read her book The Year Comes Round and discuss haiku.

Kids will learn to draw a bird and write a poem.

Sarah Brannen will read from her books Bear Needs Help and Seashells: More Than a Home and give a drawing lesson.

Priscilla Alpaugh will share a sneak peek at her forthcoming book, Space Mice, and kids will learn to draw astronaut mice.

Later that day, feel free to stay and #DiscoverYourArts during the Free Family Drop-In Arts Day Activities between 2PM-5PM in The Umbrella Arts Education classrooms.!
