wow wind on water public art exhibit photoCome enjoy this outdoor free public art exhibit of Wind Sculptures™ by internationally renowned artist Lyman Whitaker, in the Charlestown Navy Yard along the Boston Harbor.

The specially designed collection of Whitaker’s diverse kinetic sculptures are comprised of intricate and gracefully moving metals that will be continually propelled by the Boston Harbor’s windy micro-climate, spinning and twirling in imaginative syncopation.

This exhibit along the Boston Harbor offers a welcome outdoor activity that provides ample opportunity for safe social distancing while walking, biking and enjoying fresh harbor breezes.

Visitors of all ages will delight in viewing the sculptures’ majestic and magical movements. The custom exhibit pieces range from approximately 6 to 18 feet in height. They are created from a variety of metals including copper, steel and stainless steel that spin on sealed ball bearings.

Charlestown is easy daytrip from Long Wharf, that includes a short ferry ride and makes a fun outing for all ages. Visit the USS Constitution Museum, Take a tour of Old Ironsides, visit or climb to the top of Bunker Hill Monument, or grab a snack at The Anchor.

In the time of Covid19 restrictions, this free exhibit offers a welcome outdoor activity that provides ample opportunity for safe social distancing while walking, biking and breathing fresh harbor breezes.
