3rd Space premieres with two art exhibitions, “Soft City” and “ISUs,” which reflect Downtown Boston BID’s intention to provide exposure and economic opportunities for creatives, as well as a platform for exciting new voices in community conversations that challenge the status quo.
The group just practice, founded by Amanda Ugorji and Sophie Weston Chien, have installed its large-scale textile series “Soft City,” which recounts Boston’s systemic history of racist redlining and its past, present, and future impact on Black residents in Greater Boston.
The studio VERS Collab, founded by Chelsea Jno Baptiste, Sahil Mohan, and Savannah Cheung, brings “ISUs” (short for ‘integrated sheltering units’) – an interactive, socio-political artwork that comments on concepts of shelter, housing equity, and ‘“hostile architecture.’”
Stop in, bring lunch, stay awhile, and discover!
