Join us for the 2023 World Music Concert Series, Celebrate Diversity, Build Community Somerville.

Sunday Oct 15,2023 @ Seven Hills Park Somerville, MA 2 PM

Somerville Community Path &, Buena Vista Rd, Somerville, MA 02144

Rhythm Future Quartet

The acoustic jazz ensemble, Rhythm Future Quartet has a straightforward agenda: to keep the spirit of Gypsy jazz alive and expanding in today’s musical universe.

The virtuosic foursome, named for a Django Reinhardt tune, offers up a newly minted sound, influenced by the classic Hot Club of France, yet wholly contemporary.

Founded by violinist Jason Anick, the quartet performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse international rhythms and musical idioms.

With Max O’Rourke, Henry Acker, and Greg Loughman rounding out the quartet, Rhythm Future is dedicated to expanding the boundaries of a vital musical genre.

Jason Anick: Violin
Max O’Rourke: Guitar
Henry Acker: Guitar
Greg Loughman: Bass

The World Music Concert Series, Celebrate Diversity, Build Community – organized by Grammy-nominated global jazz percussionist, educator, and composer Tareq Rantisi — has a spatial and social justice focus, bringing diverse world-class artists to underutilized public spaces.

The series features artists representing our local community, in beaches and parks that rarely host public events.

The artists are masters of their own cultural traditions.

All Concerts are outdoors, free, and intended to be accessible to all people (Immunocompromised, disabled, elderly and children, etc).

Free masks will be available for the public Co-sponsored by ProjectN95.

The World Music Concert Series, Celebrate Diversity, Build Community Somerville is supported in part by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency supported by Massachusetts Cultural Council.
