This two-hour workshop will introduce you to the skills you need to start meaningfully incorporating music into your improv scenes!

From warming up your voice, supporting your scene partners, and exploring your balance of self trust and silliness, get ready to launch into the world of improvised musicals!

An introduction to musical improv led by The Nova Comedy Collective instructor Nathan Cowper, presented by The Nova Comedy Collective as an 'Orbit' level class.

It is ideal for those with some past improv experience including introductory classes/workshops, game and scene format experience.

About the Instructor

Nathan Cowper is a musician and improviser who has been performing in the Boston area since 2014.

Nathan has worked as a music director and piano accompanist at many local comedy theaters, taught classes in musical improv, and provided music for corporate engagements.

A piano player since childhood and improviser since high school, Nathan also writes surreal indie music under the stage name Arugula Oglethorpe.

321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA, 02471 map

The Mosesian Center for the Arts is located at 321 Arsenal Street in Watertown, Massachusetts on the Arsenal on the Charles Campus. It is easily accessible from I-95/128, Routes 9, 16, 20, and 90 (Mass Pike), and the MBTA. See below the map for detailed directions from various points. Parking at the Arsenal on the Charles campus is FREE at a centrally located six-floor parking garage. No overnight parking is allowed. Cars parked illegally are subject to tow at the owners expense.

PLEASE NOTE: A major renovation to the campus, roads, and walkways throughout the Arsenal on the Charles (AOTC) will affect traffic flow, parking, and accessible routes to our front doors. Due to this ongoing construction, we recommend planning on extra time to park and arrive for your event, performance, rehearsal, or class.

Four accessible parking spaces are now available on Kingsbury Ave, with a ramp up to the level of the building. If you have questions about the accessibility of pathways during this construction phase, please call or email the box office at 617-923-0100 or [email protected].

While we're making the best effort to keep maps up to date, changes may frequently occur.
