New England legend Doctor Gasp makes his spooky return to MAAM on October 23!

Doodle along to live music by the Doctor himself, enjoy a complimentary mocktail, and show up in your best eco-friendly costume for your chance to win MAAM’s costume contest.

This event is co-produced by MAAM and Associate Professor of Illustration and Program Area Chair Robert Maloney ’96, M’14 with the Illustration Department.

*To ensure the safety of works of art on view, we allow dry media in our galleries.

We are unable to accommodate the use of charcoal, pastel, paint, ink, or wet media.

Doctor Gasp:
doctorgasp.com | @danblakesleemusic

Beneath the mask is New England folk musician Dan Blakeslee with his unique bag of all original songs of Halloween oozing with vampires and ghastly creeps.

Blakeslee's songs are a throwback to old-time cult horror themes, giving nods to Bobby Pickett (Monster Mash), Alfred Hitchcock, John Zacherle and the cavernous voice of Paul Frees.

Each October the unexpected spectacle Doctor Gasp rises from the shadows delivering an earful of eerie for the young, old and immortal!

Robert Maloney:

Robert Maloney is a Boston-area native who creates multimedia pieces influenced by the many layers of the urban landscape.

His recent work focuses on the connections between the temporary materials of our man-made structures and how these fragile forms relate to the erosion of our memories over the course of time.
