Calling all Boston teens!Join Puppet Showplace Theater at MFA Teen Sundays (@mfateens) on Sunday, March 1, 2026 for Puppet Improv, a fun FREE workshop taught by veteran improviser, puppeteer, and our Resident Artist, Sarah Nolen of @puppetmotion!
At the beginning of the workshop, you’ll create your own “peepers” puppet — a simple set of expressive eyeballs that you can take home with you!
Then, we’ll dive into participatory games and a crash course in hand-and-rod “Muppet-style” puppet manipulation to get everyone moving and creating right away.
We’ll learn idea-generation skills and scene-building techniques in pursuit of our ultimate mission: to create amazing puppet sketches and zany solo performances with zero scripting or prior preparation.
Along the way, we'll discover the outrageous possibilities of puppetry.
