The Acton Cooperative Theater Announces Registration for their Fall 2015 Productions

The Acton Cooperative Theater (The A.C.T.) is pleased to announce its Fall 2015 productions: Elf Jr. (Grades 5-12) and Music Man Kids (Grades K-4).

Elf Jr., a new musical based on the beloved holiday film, is a hilarious fish-out-of water comedy that follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.

Buddy, a young orphan mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole.

The would-be elf is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.

With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity.

Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Elf Jr. is open to all students entering grades 5-12 in Fall 2015.

Based on the timeless Broadway classic, The Music Man Kids adapts this masterful musical specially for children in grades K-4.

The story follows traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize.

The catch?

He doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef.

His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the town librarian, whose belief in Harold's powers just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself.

The result is family entertainment at its best - a bold, brassy show that will have the whole town atwitter!

The A.C.T.

is a unique, non-profit cooperative theater for children and teens.

Their mission is to foster creativity and self-confidence in students grades K-12 as they improve and develop their skills in various areas of the performing arts.

The A.C.T.

welcomes students from Acton and surrounding communities who are interested in exploring the wonderful world of theater.
