Please join us to celebrate the release of Eve Megargel's memoir, Learning to Kiss, at the Lurie Center for Autism on May 12th at 7pm.

It's about the journey raising her now 25 y/o son who was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of 2 and who is nonverbal.

The inability to communicate verbally affects 25% of individuals with autism. The book highlights the importance of recognizing the potential of those with limited verbal abilities to express themselves and achieve meaningful social relationships, even in the face of constant adversity.

Learning to Kiss is an unflinching and triumphant portrait of a nonverbal young man on the autism spectrum who responds to his litany of medical issues with courage and determination to communicate.

Refreshments will be served.
