What animal would you be if your finger bones grew so long that they reached your feet?

Or what if you had no leg bones but kept your arm bones?

Come find out how our skeletons are like and—and unlike—those of other animals during local author Sara Levine's reading of Bone by Bone: Comparing Animal Skeletons.

This event will include hands-on activities appropriate for for children ages 4 to 11, and their families.

Sara Levine is an assistant professor of biology at Wheelock College and a veterinarian.

Her science books for children include Bone by Bone: Comparing Animal Skeletons (2013) and Tooth by Tooth: Comparing Fangs, Tusks and Chompers (2016).

Bone by Bone: Comparing Animal Skeletons received recognitions including selection as Bank Street College Best Children’s Book of the Year, a finalist for the Cook Prize for best STEM picture book, and nomination for the Utah Beehive Prize.

Her third book, Fossil by Fossil: Comparing Dinosaur Bones will be published in 2018.
