Join Historic Salem for this year’s “Christmas in Salem Tour” - back in person for 2021!

In Person Option
Enjoy our traditional, in-person, format complete with beautiful houses and festive events. The tour will be held the first weekend in December, on Dec 4th and 5th, 2021.

Virtual Option
In addition, we will be capitalizing on the benefits of last year’s virtual event by offering virtual live stream tours of each house, allowing friends and family from around the globe to view the magic of Christmas in Salem.

This virtual event will also provide a ready option for the “tour to go on” should public health indications take a turn for the worse.

2021 Logistics & Info
There are several operational differences in response to the ongoing global pandemic, so please keep reading.

1. This year’s event will be ADVANCED TICKETS ONLY. Please make sure to book your tickets online before the days of the tour.

2. Tickets will be issued for a specific time slot (Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon). There are limited tickets for each time slot, for a total of 1000 tickets. Once capacity is reached, there will be no additional tickets sold. You must show up for the tour during your allotted time.

About the Tour
Few communities have the rich legacy of historic houses that Salem, Massachusetts boasts.

These homes, spanning four centuries, help define the character as well as the appearance of the city, and every year some of their owners invite visitors in to view their homes decked out in full holiday regalia, with the help of professional decorators and florists.

The unique Orne Square mini-neighborhood is a collection of English-style cottages that were built just after the great fire of 1914.

Coupled with the grand homes of Hathorne and Broad streets, visitors will be able to experience a range of Salem’s unique architecture in homes decked out for the Holiday.

Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online in order to ensure a space on the tour. Once in-person tickets have sold out, a streaming (virtual) tour option will still be available for all.

Christmas in Salem is thought to be the nation’s longest running holiday house tour. It is also the annual fundraiser for Historic Salem, Inc., an advocacy group dedicated to preserving Salem’s historic resources and educating the community on their value.

Christmas In Salem Holiday House Tour

Have been coming for a few years now and each year brings something different and exciting. I'm so looking forward to my visit this weekend and especially to see how the Brookhouse has been done all over. Happy holiday and thank you so much for making so many people happy.
