Commonwealth Ballet Company is excited to announce the virtual performance of our re-imagined holiday classic, The Nutcracker en Masque! The performance will be available on our website (commonwealthballet.org) at 9am ET on Dec. 27 and is sponsored in part by Rand-Whitney.
Artistic Director, Chip Morris, has created a special production this year to bring The Nutcracker right to the comfort of your own home.
While this is a free performance and will be available for all to watch at their leisure, we're asking for donations -- anything that you're willing and able to give.
For context, a family of four usually pays $168 for center orchestra seats to attend CBC's Nutcracker.
The pandemic hasn't spared the arts, and we know everyone in the community has been affected by COVID-19. We're grateful for any support you can give to enable our company to keep creating performances and sharing the arts with the community we love.
CBC partnered with Acton TV and our dancers were filmed one at a time in a safe and controlled environment. Chip Morris has edited together a piece that not only captures the magic of the Nutcracker but the everlasting joy of the holiday season.
