The essays must explain in 250 words or less why the children’s Grands (parents, mother, father) are grand.
“We will invite each of the winners to read and record his or her essay for a special Grandparents Day episode of the podcast,” said Carolyn Berry, author and podcast host.
“The bonus podcast episode will be a unique way to announce the winners and to honor the children’s grandparents.
We also will compile the winning essays into a free downloadable PDF families can access from the podcast website.”
The contest has two age categories: ages 5 to 9 and ages 10-16.
The sponsors will award prizes to first, second and third place winners in each category and to a grand prize winner.
Entries, which must be written in U.S. English, must be submitted electronically between July 23, 2021, and August 6, 2021, through a form on the podcast website: http://adventureswithgrammy.com/podcast/form.html
Gorgeous Grandma Day has been a celebration in the United States every July 23 since 1984.
Grandparents Day has been a celebration in the United States the Sunday after Labor Day every year since 1979.
