7th Annual Dance for World Community Festival
in Harvard Square, Cambridge, June 13, 2015
From Ballet to Hip Hop, Square Dance to Modern, over 20,000 people expected at this FREE celebration showcasing the power of dance to better our world.
The Festival at a Glance:
• Dance Performances by 80+ groups & Advocacy Way, 12:00 – 6:00pm
• Introduction to Dance Classes in all forms, 12:00 – 6:00pm
• Festive food, children’s activities and interactive dance opportunities, 12-6:00 pm
• Parking Lot Dance Party Celebration 6:00 – 8:00pm
Featuring:
• Four outdoor stages, one indoor stage with performances by 80+ local dance troupes in a variety of dance forms including African, Ballet, Folk, Hip Hop, Irish Step, Modern, Salsa, and many more.
• Free introductory dance classes for both children and adults
• Advocacy Way offering the opportunity to connect to the important work being accomplished by social service agencies, environmental organizations, social justice activists and more.
• Festive foods, children’s activities and more
• Parking Lot Dance Party celebration from 6-8:00 pm.

WHY: The dance-based Festival illustrates Dance for World Community, an exciting initiative That showcases dance as a powerful force in bringing people together to work and celebrate for a better world.
The Festival uses the power of dance to connect people to the important work being accomplished by social service agencies, environmental organizations, social justice activists and more.

June 7, 3-5:00 pm TALK ABOUT DANCE, a series of discussions and workshops which focus on expanding the role of dance in communities.
This year’s topic: Dance and Racism Dance on Film Festival Nightly Screenings, June 8-11, 8:00pm Recent films by international, national, and local filmmakers Both events will be held at 1151 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge
