Dance Prism presents Cinderella, the most magical of fairy tales, in a glittering newly updated production.
The ballet follows Cinderella’s remarkable transformation from an ash-streaked waif to an elegant princess.
Harassed and neglected by her selfish but hilarious stepsisters, she remains kind and resilient until rescued by a magically endowed fairy godmother who spirits her off in a pumpkin coach to the Prince’s ball and an ensuing romance.
When midnight strikes, as foretold, Cinderella returns to her former state, leaving the distraught prince to search through many lands for the mysterious girl who abandoned a glass slipper.
After each performance, audience members are invited to a complementary “Pumpkin Party,” with sweet treats and an opportunity for young audience members to meet Cinderella, the Prince, and other principal dancers.
Children under the age of 12 are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character in the story.
Dance Prism is New England’s Premier Touring Ballet Company now in its 33rd season.
Founded in 1982 by Scott Ranagan and Mary Demaso, Dance Prism is a classically focused ensemble whose intention is to make classical ballet readily accessible and affordable to adults and children in areas of New England outside the major metropolitan centers.
Its repertoire includes traditional ballets such as Cinderella and The Nutcracker; major works of the classical canon, including La Sylphide, Swan Lake, and Giselle; and original works such as Variations on Make Way for Ducklings, inspired by Robert McCloskey’s beloved tale and Dance Prism’s most popular family oriented ballet, A Tea Party with Alice in Wonderland.
Following Cinderella, Dance Prism’s 2015-16 season turns to its 33rd annual Nutcracker tour.
The Nutcracker and other classical and original ballets are performed in cities that include Worcester, Andover, Sudbury, Fall River, Natick and Littleton.
In the spring Dance Prism will present a new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Lecture-Demonstrations
When not involved in the fully mounted theatre performances, Dance Prism Company members tour New England offering Lecture-Demonstrations and Dance-related Workshops to private and public schools, libraries and retirement communities.

Special Programs for Scouts and other groups.
Dance Prism offers special programs to meet the needs of Scouts of all ages as well as other community groups.
Programs can be arranged for a pre-show informational talk tailored to fulfill badge requirements, the opportunity to meet the dancers, and backstage tours for appropriate age levels.
A Youth Group Special Program may include a complementary Dance Prism patch for attendance.
