On Friday, February 7 from 5-7pm, the Gallery at WREN celebrates the opening reception of LAYERS &LANDSCAPES featuring the work of two North Country artists.

Kim Druker Stockwell and Melanie Barash Levitt represent the best of a generation of mid-career painters establishing their unique voices and points of view.

Levitt, based in Jackson, and Stockwell, based part-time in Bethlehem, will present two bodies of work that celebrate the colors, textures, themes and vistas of the North Country.

Melanie Barash Levitt is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Graphic Design.

She has been a graphic designer for the last 20 years and worked on the creative team for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

Upon moving to Jackson and starting a family, Melanie developed Jackson Art Exploration as a way to expose young children to art.

Since then, she has taught a variety of classes for kids and adults at her studio.

Melanie currently resides in Jackson, NH with her husband Daren, and two daughters, Logan and Eden.

Kim Druker Stockwell paints fi ctional and nonfi ctional portraiture of The White Mountains and surrounding nature in the Bethlehem, New Hampshire area.

She uses different mediums for different expressions of her subject including oil paint and gouache.

Kim has created a veritable cast of characters in her trees and vegetation that contend with the subtle and not so subtle light that comes and goes during the day.

In 2016, Kim graduated from the School at the Museum of Fine Arts, MFA program in Boston where she lives with her husband, three children and dog.

Tuesday, March 3.

Come meet the WREN Team and new Executive Director, Pam Sullivan and hear more about some of our new initiatives for the coming year.

The Gallery at WREN is open daily from 11am to 5pm.
