The New Bedford Whaling museum makes for a great day trip from the city and it’s central to the main shopping and dining area of New Bedford’s historic downtown. As an intersectional institution, there are countless things to see and do!
All ages, kids and adults, can enjoy whether they’re into the sea, science, culture or art.
- Explore whale science and conservation and learn how Yankee whalers sailed the seven seas
- Marvel at five massive whale skeletons, the world’s largest whaling ship model (Lagoda), and America’s longest painting

- View varying art exhibitions featuring works by internationally known artists & regional rising stars
