Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Tanglewood live performance schedule is canceled; with a groundbreaking 2020 Tanglewood Online Series to be offered throughout the summer.

Instead, WBURís childrenís storytelling podcast, Circle Round, and the Grammy-winning Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will publish a special on-demand audio experience starting on July 28th.

Concert Info Here

The concert, which will replace the BSOís usual in-person Family Concert at Tanglewood, will feature a new score composed by Circle Roundís Eric Shimelonis and played by a BSO soloist.

The BSO soloists are flutist Cynthia Myers, violist Danny Kim, tuba player Mike Roylance and bassist Benjamin Levy.

These talented musicians will also be featured on four episodes of Circle Round, which adapts folktales from around the world into action-packed radio plays starring beloved voices from the stage and screen. The episodes and air dates are as follows:

July 7th: Every Other Friday: Real-life couple Melora Hardin (The Bold Type, The Office) and Gildart Jackson (The Bold Type, Charmed) star in a tale about a crafty countess who teaches a broke baker never to look a gift horse in the mouth. Featured BSO Musician: Bassist Benjamin Levy

July 21st: 'The Farmer's Coin': Jin Ha (Devs, Love Life) and Greta Jung (Modern Family, Station 19) headline a Korean folktale about a hardworking farmer whose generosity brings a surprising reward. Featured BSO Musician: Violist Danny Kim

August 4th: Naming the Tree: Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies, My Spy) stars in an African tale about how bigger isn't always better, and how slow and steady can be best of all! Featured BSO Musician: Tuba Player Mike Roylance

August 18th: The Charming Flute: Amy Hargreaves (13 Reasons Why, Homeland) plays a mystical flute player who teaches a greedy landowner to sing a different tune. Featured BSO Musician: Flutist Cynthia Meyers
