The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) will be hosting its ninth annual Archaeology Fair in collaboration with the Museum of Science this October on International Archaeology Day.

The Archaeology Fair is an event that features archaeologically-themed programs and interactive activities for the whole family.

This is your chance to dig into archaeology and uncover the past!

The Archaeology Fair is part of the programming for Massachusetts Archaeology Month.

The event continues to grow every year thanks to museums, institutions, and individuals who volunteer to share their passion for archaeology with the public.

Activities are designed and presented by archaeologists, educators, and other specialists.

This year’s presenters include the Archaeological Institute of America, Diablo Glass School, Legio III Cyrenaica, MA Board of Underwater Archaeological Resources, Massachusetts Archaeological Society, Historic New England, Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources, Robert S.

Peabody Museum of Archaeology, Harvard Semitic Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, and more!

Attendees can explore multiple aspects of archaeology and participate in activities involving pottery, textiles, tool making, shipwrecks, and more!

The fair will take place at the Museum of Science from 9:00-2:00 on Friday, October 16th and from 10:00-3:00 on Saturday, October 17th.

The event is free with Museum of Science admission and will be fun and educational for all ages.

For more information you can visit the event page or contact the AIA at 617-353-9361.
