1st Boston LegaZy Event
(A Drums & Cymbals Performance to Honor the Zildjian Company of Norwell, MA)

The very first of its kind, this special show will feature some of the top performers in New England who will come together to honor the oldest family business in the USA, the Zildjian Company of Norwell, MA (the largest cymbals manufacturer since 1623).

Counting on the incredible amount of supporters, players, fans, customers and music lovers, Sergio Bellotti and his company 247drums, along with the Dedham School of Music have committed to offer and dedicate an afternoon of performances, story telling, video presentations, show & tell, live on stage interviews, and much more to the Zildjian Company.

In 1623, Avedis Zildjian started his own business in a suburb of Constantinople named Psamatia.

That same business is now nearly four centuries old and has been passed down to Zildjian heirs for fifteen generations.

Relocating to America in 1929, Avedis III moved the Zildjian factory to Quincy, MA and then to its current location in Norwell, MA for Zildjian's 350th Anniversary.

The business passed to Avedis' son, Armand in 1977 and then to Armand's daughter, Craigie, in 1999.

Currently, Craigie and her sister Debbie continue the family tradition in what is recognized as the oldest family-owned business in America.

Zildjian has been supporting artists worldwide for centuries by providing them with the best instruments and sponsoring educational events, master classes and festivals alike.
This time the drumming community, to express their gratitude and appreciation, will come together to pay respect and honor a family who has done so much over the last few centuries.

Some of the very finest percussion players in New England will participate in this event by donating their performance talents, sharing stories, and perhaps showing some one of a kind pieces from their own collections.

A Show & Tell area will be available in the auditorium for collectors and 'cymbalholics' to compare, trade, swap, discuss and “talk” bronze!

Sergio Bellotti, a Zildjian artist and worldwide performer and educator, will MC the event along with other key figures in the percussion industry who will certainly take the stage to share their legaZy.

Expect an afternoon of stellar performances, fun and informative story telling, seeing old friends and making new ones and all in the name of Drumming and Cymbals!

You don’t have to play Zildjian Cymbals to attend, you simply must love drums and cymbals and acknowledge the greatness of a local business that continues to be an asset for the drumming community worldwide!
