Volunteer Position Descriptions

Admission Tent & Admission Line Managers:

Sell Craft Beer Festival tickets, check names off RSVP list; collect email ticket receipts; check IDs (guest must be 21+); issue wristbands and help with line management.

Bag Check:
Check bags at front entrance.

Community Ambassadors:
Promote WGBH membership, public tours, and volunteer opportunities to guests.

Encourage guests to complete a brief enter-to-win survey for the chance to win a WGBH prize.

Must be a current WGBH volunteer for 2+ years to qualify for this position.

Concession:
Prepare and serve popcorn and scoop ice cream for guests.

A WGBH staff person will handle sales.

Food Truck Line Manager:
Help manage food truck lines.

Food Samplers:
Distribute food and beverage samples to guests.

Merchandise Assistant:
Provide excellent customer service to our guests as they shop for event keepsakes.

Parking:
Wave to traffic on One Guest Street; direct cars inside garage for event parking; answer questions; alert WGBH staff if guests are seen leaving with alcohol; direct guests towards parking structure.

Photographer:
Take pictures of Main Stage performances or rove around event venue to cover activities in booths, food trucks, and WGBH volunteers in action.

Photographer’s Assistant:
Walk with photographer during the event, record names of people in pictures and ask guests in posed photos to sign an appearance release form.

Set-up:
Work with WGBH Event Production Team to bring event items and supplies from inside One Guest Street to WGBH’s visitor parking lot; staple tablecloths to vendor and activity tables; and set-up signage.

Table Runner:
Refill water jugs; empty spittoons; assist breweries as needed.

One volunteer will be stationed at each brewery table.

TIPS Certified Pourer/ID Check:
Check IDs at event entrance; pour as needed at brewery tables.

Water Station:
Refill water jugs; replenish cup supply; make sure guests know water is available—and stay hydrated!
