It's sugarin' time in the Blue Hills!

Join us as as Mass Audubon's Blue Hills Trailside Museum and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation continue a more than twenty year tradition of making maple syrup at Brookwood Farm, here in the Blue Hills Reservation.

Discover how people learned to get sugar from a tree as you take a walk down 'Maple Lane,' meeting people who share the maple story and who help you handle and use sugar making tools.

Smell the wood smoke as you watch clouds of steam rise from bubbling sap cooking into syrup in the sugar house, and get a taste of real maple.

Activities include games for children, a warming bonfire, and horse-drawn wagon rides (additional fee of $3.00/pp).

Skilled artisans demonstrate traditional, hand-powered crafts.

Grab a bite to eat from a food truck, and locally produced maple syrup is available for purchase.

This outdoor event features a self-guided tour over flat, level terrain.

Plan on spending at least an hour and a half.

Afterwards, enjoy free same-day admission to Trailside Museum.
