First Parish of Westwood Silent Auction, Christmas Fair with Family Concert

Every first Saturday in December, the First Parish of Westwood hosts an annual community tradition, its Silent Auction and Christmas Fair.

The community will have opportunity to find holiday gifts and treats collected by First Parish of Westwood members and volunteers.

Auction offerings include BSO tickets, Red Sox tickets, Skating Club of Boston lessons, Abbott Center massages, TreeTop Adventures tickets, a handmade quilt and scarves, and other items.

Holiday shoppers will also find Fair offerings to include handmade wreathes and crafts, baked goods and jewelry.

This year, the event is included in the first ever Westwood Weekend Stroll, a three-day program of offerings by local businesses and organizations.

Following the Silent Auction and Christmas Fair, the church will host its Christmas Concert at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the Silent Auction and Christmas Fair is free; a donation of $10 is suggested for the Christmas Concert.

The Christmas Concert features baritone RaShaun Campbell, Willie and Friends Jazz Band, and a special visitor from the North Pole at intermission.

Audience members will be treated to holiday favorites an audience sing-alongs such as The Grinch, O Holy Night, and Jingle Bells.

RaShaun Campbell is an award-winning singer who has performed with Longwood Opera, Empire Opera, Opera Brittenica, among others.

He is an ensemble member of the Boston Lyric Opera.

He is a featured soloist on the Fort Worth Men's Chorus CD, Simple Gifts.

Willie Sordillo of Willie and Friends Jazz Band has performed at Regattabar, Scullers, Ryles and Club Passim and throughout North America.

He is a multiple Boston Music Awards winner, and has performed with or opened for Pete Seeger and Tito Puente, among others.

Dr. Sarah Tocco will accompany on the piano.

Dr. Tocco is a faculty member of the Winchester School of Music and debuted at Carnegie Hall.

As winner of a concerto competition, she has performed internationally.

The event is handicap accessible, and free parking in the church lot is available.

From I-95, exit 16B to Westwood. Continue on High Street into Westwood approximately 2-3 miles. At Nahatan Street, make a left turn. The church is located at the top of the hill, on the left, next door to Westwood High School playing fields.
