Join us for free admission on Community Day—our Thank You to the community as we celebrate our 40th anniversary!

In the morning, we'll kick off the festivities by making one-of-a-kind noisemakers.

Then, join us on a celebratory parade to our cake-cutting ceremony at 11:00am, led by a special guest from the Maynard Public Library.

You can also enjoy a performance of 'Dhol-Tasha-Lezim,' a 'double-headed drumming and dance' folk art form that is indigenous to Maharashtra, a state on the west coast of India.

This is often performed during celebrations and always performed in a group, to engage the entire community.

Throughout the day, try your hand at some classic Discovery Museum activities such as Balls & Ramps, Cup Towers, a 'Discovery Quest' scavenger hunt, and more!

Admission will be free all day, 9am to 4:30pm; advance reservations are required to visit and can be made 10 days in advance.

Inclement weather may result in changes to or cancellation of some activities.

Discovery Museum's 40th Anniversary Community Day is made possible by The TJX Companies, with additional support from Enterprise Bank and MathWorks, along with Corning Life Sciences, Dunkin/Locally Owned and Operated by the Pesce Family, Hologic, Inc., and Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
